In Loving Memory of Shirley Ann Lane
Shirley Ann Lane, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on June 25, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Anna (Gardenhire) Murray and late Grady Murray Sr. She peacefully transitioned on June 16, 2023, at UC Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Shirley's educational journey led her to graduate from Withrow High School in 1964, where she acquired a strong foundation for her future endeavors. Following her graduation, she embarked on a successful career at Shillito's, formerly known as Macy's, where she dedicated herself for many years. Her unwavering commitment and dedication to her work allowed her to retire with pride.
On this momentous day of September 28, 1970, Shirley exchanged vows with the late Robert Lane, and together they built a beautiful family. From their union, they were blessed with two daughters, Michelle Lane (late) and Marsha Lane. Shirley's love and devotion to her family knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with her daughters and grandchildren.
Despite her battle with kidney disease, Shirley approached life with unwavering strength and resilience. She found joy in the simple pleasures, such as spending quality time with her loved ones, indulging in her favorite guilty pleasure of watching ratchet TV, trying her luck at the casino, embarking on shopping adventures, and creating lasting memories with her dear friends Gwen Harris and Rita Willis.
Shirley's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Marsha Lane, who will continue to carry her mother's legacy forward and two sisters Celeste Johnson (Lawrence) & Marilyn Murray. Additionally, Shirley leaves behind her three adoring grandchildren, Justin Lee (Jakinda), (late) Teeira Lane, Aaron & Morgan Howard, and her beloved great grandson, Justin Lee Jr., and a host of family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Shirley Ann Lane, may we find solace in the cherished memories we shared with her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her infectious laughter, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. Shirley's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Shirley. You will be deeply missed and forever loved. May your soul find comfort and serenity in the embrace of the heavens above.
