Virginia L. (Unthank) Asberry

Virginia L. Asberry, affectionately known as “Sissy” and “Ginny Lou”, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Presley McCoy and Wilma Margaret Unthank. She attended St. Elizabeth, Norwood High School, and the Christ Hospital for Nursing.

Sissy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She LOVED taking care of people no matter where she was; she had a natural gift, giving of oneself genuinely when you were in need.

She explored a 25-plus year career as an LPN and an Open-Heart Monitor Reader with The Christ Hospital. She worked for The Kroger Company and enjoyed all her friends at the Hillcrest Elderly Community where she lived for many years.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Presley McCoy Unthank and Wilma Margaret Unthank; brother, William Unthank, Charles Edward Unthank

Virginia leaves to cherish her memories sons, Mark Rox, David Asberry Jr., Terrence Asberry, and Demetrius Williams; siblings, Robert Unthank (Cindy) of Illinois, Penny Helton (Mike) of Erlanger, KY, and Maria Adkins (Tony) of Paduka, KY; grandchildren, Louis M. Rox, Cameron Rox, Brenden Rox, Kendra Imani Renee Burge, Yandy Bryant, Tiara “Cupcake” Terri Asberry, and Dakeam Williams; great-grandchildren, Terenzi Rox, Kaliyah Faith Reed, Soraya Lyrical Lions; sisters-in-law, Kim Unthank and Linda Unthank; Best friend Stephine Slaughter, The Asberry Family and The Cook Family, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Sissy smile and loving personality will forever be missed by her family and all her friends.
