A Life Well-Lived

William Robert (a.k.a. Chilly Will, a.k.a. Rob Boo) Banks passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at the age of 58, following a courageous battle with lung cancer that later led to brain cancer. Born on July 20, 1966, to Aurelia Banks and William Chapman, William lived boldly, unapologetically, and always on his own terms.

William was a man who embraced life with intensity and flair. His love for money was legendary—so much so that “Money, Money, Money, Money” could have been his theme song. He took immense pride in his possessions, always eager to show off his cars, jewelry, clothes, model cars, and airplanes. His confidence and enthusiasm were unmatched, and he moved through the world with a presence that was impossible to ignore.

A natural entrepreneur, William poured his energy into his ventures. He loved riding around with his family while listening to music through his two 15-inch speakers in the trunk—boom, boom, boom. He would show us the homes he was renovating and take us to visit his car cleaning business, Domies Car Cleaning System. He absolutely loved showing his family the progress of his ventures. He had an undeniable gift of gab, captivating anyone who crossed his path. His success followed him wherever he went, a testament to his relentless drive and ambition.

Beyond business, he found joy in spending time with his loved ones. He was always up for a game of chess or Uno and eating mounds of food—yet he could never gain a pound! Oh, how he cherished the moments shared with family and friends. He also participated in the National Junior Tennis League in his younger years and carried his competitive spirit throughout his life.

P.S. He loved watching The Flintstones and Sanford and Son. We recently found a DVD of The Flintstones—oh, the chuckle we had.

A Legacy of Love

William was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Aurelia Banks; his sister, Kathy Cramer; and his brother, Nathalus Eugene Hughes.

He leaves behind a family who will forever hold him in their hearts:

His son, Davon Banks;

His sisters, Evette Aurelia Banks, Lauretta Tinnise Banks, Kelvina Freeman (affectionately known as Sissy), and Belinda Anderson;

His uncles, Ed and Uhuru Watson;

His aunts, Beverly Watson, Helene Kramer and Bonnie Maiden;

His girlfriend, Patricia Orr;

His cherished dog, Neno Brown;

And a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

A Heartfelt Thank You

William Banks lived life loudly, proudly, and without regrets—a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
